Liz and Patrick | Wedding at Salvage One, Chicago

Just one week before Christmas we closed our 2009 wedding season with relaxed and fun wedding of Liz and Patrick. The ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Church and reception at Salvage One - a very unique and cool place for a wedding in Chicago. We love to photograph there. It was a lovely day filled with laughs, love and happiness, thanks to Liz and Patrick’s awesome family and friends . It was so nice to be part of their big day. Enjoy some images from the wedding.

Lindsey & Chris | Engagement Session at Architectural Artifacts, Chicago

Lindsey and Chris live out of state so I met them for the first time while photographing their engagement session here in Chicago. After a few minutes I knew we would have a very nice time working together. They are such a sweet and lovely couple.
They like outdoors and really wanted to have their engagement session outside, but since the weather forecast for Chicago was not promising, we had to think of an indoor location as a backup plan. We’ve chosen The Architectural Artifacts, but since it was only drizzling when we got there, we decided to take some pictures outside as well. I’m glad we did it, because the light was beautiful that day. I’m looking forward to photograph Lindsey and Chris on their wedding day again!

Kristie, Jennifer, Carla, Theresa and Heather

A couple weeks ago, on a beautiful November afternoon I had a pleasure to photograph Jennifer and her sisters. Every year all sisters meet in a different place to spend a weekend together. This time they came to Chicago to visit Jennifer and decided to do a fashion weekend. Jennifer’s husband took portraits of the girls in his studio (you can check the pictures on his blog) and I did an outdoor session. The girls are fun, friendly and close to each other, so I had a good time photographing them all together.

Misty | Portraits

I met with Misty on a beautiful, warm November afternoon. Misty asked me to take some boudoir pictures, but she also brought her wedding dress, so I could take some bridal pictures of her as well. It was a great idea and I’m happy to share some images from our bridal shoot with you.

Weather Report.

WEATHER REPORT
“Any day I’m vertical
is a good day”
…that’s what I always say.
If you ask me,
“How are you?”
I’ll answer, “GREAT!”
because in saying so,
I make it so.
When Life gives me dark clouds and rain,
I appreciate the moisture
that brings a soft curl to my hair.
When Life gives me sunshine,
I gratefully turn my face up
to feel its warmth on my cheeks.
When Life brings fog,
I hug my sweater around me
and give thanks for the cool shroud of mystery
that makes the familiar seem different and intriguing.
When Life brings snow,
I dash outside to catch the first flakes on my tongue,
relishing the icy miracle that is a snowflake.
Life’s events and experiences
are like the weather -
they come and go,
no matter what my preference.
So, what the heck?!
I might as well decide to enjoy them.
For indeed,
there IS a time for every purpose
under Heaven.
And each season brings its own unique blessings.
